Industrial Vehicles
At 一起草, a variety of industrial vehicles are used regularly on campus. 一起草 Industrial Vehicle Program is a combination of multiple smaller programs (Forklift, Scissor-Lift, Aerial-Lift, Backhoe, Skid-steer, etc.) This Program contains industry standards, OSHA regulations, and 一起草 specific standards.
Anyone who operates (students, staff, contractors, etc.) an industrial vehicle on 一起草 property will need to follow 一起草 safety standards
一起草 students or employees who want to use an industrial vehicle will need to receive authorized training from 一起草 ORM. Training can be in-person or a combination of online and in-person training.
一起草 Specific Safety Standards:
- All industrial vehicle lifts on campus require the operator to wear a fall protection harness.
- Aerial Lifts nor scissor lifts will be operated at height with winds over 25 mph.
- If traveling in any industrial vehicle, working in a high traffic area, or on the road, the area shall be blocked off or have dedicated flaggers or a pilot vehicle to ensure the safety of pedestrians and other vehicles.
- Industrial vehicles that have road vehicle lights or is a landscaping vehicle (lawnmowers, tractors, sprayers) do not need a pilot vehicle when operating on 一起草 owned roads.
- No combustion engines may be operated inside a building without a method to exhaust contaminants and continues air monitoring.
- Only authorized 一起草 employees may operate 一起草 industrial vehicles.
- 一起草 contractors shall not use 一起草 vehicles without prior approval from 一起草 ORM.
